Senior Engineer
Teamforce Labour require a Senior Engineer for our client in Leiston!
Position: Senior Engineer
Location: Leiston (Suffolk)
Employment Type: Permanent

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise the engineering aspects of civil works, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to contract specifications and safety standards.
- Background in general civil engineering within a highways context, including site clearance, drainage & service ducts, earthworks, pavements, kerbs & footways, and street lighting.
- Lead and mentor site engineers and trainees, providing technical guidance, ensuring efficient workflow, and promoting a collaborative, safe working environment.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards, including the preparation and review of RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) and monitoring site safety practices., and the Specification for Highway Works.
- Liaise with design teams to review and interpret drawings and specifications, manage temporary works, and ensure accurate construction according to the project design and regulatory requirements.
- Commercially aware with experience working in a cost-conscious environment.
- Write and review Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), ensuring the process is followed and communicated clearly to the workforce.
- Take the lead in documenting and resolving Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and defects, ensuring lessons learned are shared to prevent recurrence.
- Oversee the compilation of quality handover documentation in accordance with ITPs and project requirements.
Key Skills:
- Strong communication, leadership, and team management skills.
- Ability to actively address HSEQ matters and promote safe working practices.
- Experience with Fieldview, Dalux, or similar web and mobile BIM software.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Autodesk, or SketchUp (desirable).
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering, or equivalent qualification.
- Membership of the Institute of Civil Engineers or working towards it (desirable).
- IOSH Managing Safely or SMSTS certified.
- Valid CSCS card.
- A full, valid UK driving license.
