Cognisant Search is excited to partner with an innovative startup developer in East London to recruit a Design Director. This pivotal role offers a rare opportunity to significantly influence the design, execution, and growth of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

Innovation:

• Led the innovation agenda by collaborating with a global network of manufacturers to develop a cutting-edge, systematic construction methodology. This role involves leveraging industrialized construction techniques and Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), building and managing relationships with key suppliers, fabricators, and designers, and negotiating framework agreements.

Design & Technical Management:

• Direct the technical team to ensure seamless coordination and execution of all technical aspects of each project. You will also oversee the integration of architectural design and construction, ensuring designs are practical, sustainable, and compliant with all regulatory standards.

Project Management:

• Develop, monitor, and manage project design programs to ensure delivery deadlines are met for each project.

Skills & Experience Required:

• In-depth knowledge of urban, mixed-use design and construction
• Proven track record in delivering complex, residential-led mixed-use developments
• Experience with MMC or similar methodologies, ideally within an entrepreneurial development environment
• Degree in Architectural Technology or a related field
